Aluminum Cans Recycling Facts

The aluminium can is made of two parts: the can ends and the can body. The advantage of aluminum is it weight and strength. It is extremely lightweight but has a high strength to weight ratio.  It is a third of the density of steel.  Additionally, aluminum is resistant to corrosion.

The recycling of aluminum cans is a big business in the United States as well as in other countries.    For example, there are in excess of 170 aluminum can manufacturing plants in the United States.  For every pound of aluminum, 33 cans can be produced.  Aluminum is very easy to fabricate and to form into shapes.   This is its biggest advantage when creating the massive amount of beverage cans that are produced year in and year out.
