Recycling begins in the home. Knowing how to recycle your domestic waste will definitely help to reduce global warming and help future generations.

The first step i suppose is to see what it is that you actually throw out on a day to day basis – then figure out if they can be reused, or recycled.

When it comes to domestic waste pretty much everything can be recycled. Almost all kinds of beverage containers are recyclable, and there are even some kinds that give you cash back if you take it back to where you bought it!  This is a great way to encourage kids to recycle. When you take your aluminium, glass or plastic containers to these buyback centers, they will give you a certain amount of money, and this could prove to be an incentive for your kids to recycle. Once you have segregated your recyclable material, locate your nearest drop off recycling program.

According to the EPA in the US, an average of 1.3 pounds of food scraps is thrown out from an American home everyday. A great way to recycle this is to consider a compost pile. Almost any kind of biodegradable waste from your house can be put into this bin, and you will be able to sell your compost at the farmer’s market.
